In Health and Safety, you can make a real difference, the role of Health and Safety Advisor will involve: Supporting the Health and Safety Team to deliver a safe, healthy and efficient range of services, supporting the business in a cost effective and timely manner. Building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues across Citizen and with third parties such as the Health and Safety Executive and local authority representatives to foster positive Health and Safety culture and performance. Being the responsible contact for teams across Citizen to provide up to date Health and Safety advice and guidance to colleagues as required. Assisting with health and safety training delivery and development according to business needs, as guided by Learning and Development and the Head of Service. Conducting proactive audit programmes in the relevant Directorates, supporting and guiding colleagues to adopt safe working practices. Implementing and monitoring effective lone working and personal safety procedures including training, guidance and the use of lone worker devices. Providing statistical reports and representation for Directorates across the organisation on all health and safety matters and presenting these in higher management meetings and Citizen Operational Health and Safety Committees and contributing to strategic goals. Supporting the wider business with current Health and Safety Campaigns according to HSE topics and business needs As Health and Safety Advisor we need you to have: The ability to effectively advice, guide and mentor colleagues on health and safety matters. Minimum GCSE's including Maths and English equivalent. TechIOSH or equivalent professional standard. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety Subject or actively working towards this qualification. Good communication skills both written and verbal Knowledge of risk assessment and method statement processes relevant to all areas of Health and Safety Experience in conducting inspections and audits of work sites and ability to analyse safety data. Good working ICT knowledge and the ability to support the wider business with in-house Health and Safety systems. Full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle We would be really excited if you have: Knowledge of a wide range of Health and Safety issues relevant to housing sector including repairs and maintenance and general construction Experience in conducting accident/incident investigations and providing appropriate reports and advice. Developed and written clear and understandable health and safety procedures and guidance.
