As a Supervisor within our Anglian Water Alliance, you will oversee the daily management and supervision of our workforce, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards. You will inspect, maintain and analyse wastewater collection systems to ensure proper functioning, environmental compliance, and early detection of potential issues. This role will also involve operating monitoring equipment, collecting and interpreting data, and assisting with the maintenance and repair of sewer infrastructure.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved with…
* Assist Managers and Project Managers with preparing work programmes.
* Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
* Complete and submit site-specific risk assessments and required documentation.
* Carry out regular quality checks on ongoing and completed works, addressing any issues.
* Ensure team members understand and meet their role requirements.
* Stop unsafe or non-compliant work immediately, resolving issues and escalating serious breaches.
* Report any potential project changes to your Manager promptly.
* Deliver Toolbox Talks as needed.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and local authorities.
* Ensure work complies with relevant industry standards (e.g., WJA, FORS, NRSWA).
We would love to hear from you if…
You have experience in wastewater management, plumbing or environmental monitoring. Familiarity with sewer monitoring equipment, data collection techniques, and the ability to interpret maps, blueprints and technical drawings is important.
You will need strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to work in confined spaces and in adverse weather conditions. A good understanding of health and safety regulations, such as confined space entry and PPE requirements, is essential.
Basic computer skills are required for data entry and reporting. A valid CSCS card is necessary, and holding a SSSTS qualification and SWQR Supervisor Certificate (Units 001 and 010-016) would be advantageous. An EUSR SHEA (Water or other utility) qualification is also preferred.
Candidates should have at least 3 to 5 years of operational experience in the industry. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues are key. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
