Role Overview
The Commissioning Manager will report directly to the Service Development Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gain insights and align commissioned debt advice services with MaPS' strategic objectives.
* Oversee the entire commissioning process, from identification of needs to the evaluation of service delivery, ensuring compliance with MaPS' policies and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and implement performance metrics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of commissioned services.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with the commissioning of debt advice services, ensuring that potential issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
* Support the development and continuous improvement of commissioning frameworks and processes, incorporating best practices and feedback from stakeholders.
* Facilitate training sessions and workshops for service providers to enhance their understanding of MaPS' commissioning requirements and improve service delivery outcomes.
* Skills and Experience Required
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
o Extensive experience in the debt advice sector, ideally in operational and strategic management and delivery.
o Experience in grant/contract award and/or grant/contract management.
o Self-motivated and organised, efficiently managing multiple projects and stakeholders to ensure deadlines are consistently met and objectives achieved.
o Excellent communication skills, both in presentations and in writing.
o Strong negotiation skills and sound judgement to balance conflicting interests and priorities.
o Comprehensive knowledge of various funding types available within the advice sector, identifying and securing appropriate financial resources for clients and programs.
o Ability to prepare detailed and accurate reports, crucial for documenting progress, analysing data, and informing stakeholders of developments and outcomes.

Flexible Working
At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
