Post Title: BSL (British Sign Language) Sessional Interpreter
Hours: Flexible
Pay: £35 per hour (minimum of 2 hours payment per assignment)
Location: Greater Glasgow & Clyde / Lanarkshire
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is committed to providing equity of access to healthcare services for all service users and provides interpreting services for patients who require language support in accessing healthcare. We have a number of opportunities for qualified, experienced sessional BSL interpreters to provide a professional interpretation service.
Please only apply if you meet the requirements below:
1. Currently registered as a qualified BSL interpreter with either the SRLPDC or the NRCPD.
You must be fluent in British Sign Language with the appropriate training and experience to interpret with consistency and accuracy between our patients and our staff in a healthcare setting.
You must evidence relevant experience of working as an interpreter in a public sector, advocacy, or legal environment. Applications are also welcomed from candidates from private sector organisations who possess the appropriate level of qualification and/or experience. As sessional interpreters will work in a variety of settings: Hospital, Health Centre/Clinics, and patient homes; empathy, confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
