About the Role
As a Senior Practitioner within one of the five Duty Teams, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work services to children and families. The work is fast-paced and varied, with a clear focus on strengths-based practice to drive positive change.
The Duty Service handles cases of varying complexity, with key case transfer points including:
✔ Initial Child Protection Conference
✔ First CLA Review
✔ First PLO Meeting
✔ Third CIN Meeting
You will only be on duty once every 5 weeks, allowing time to focus on high-quality case management and impactful interventions.
What Wigan are looking for
✅ Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
✅ Proven experience in children's social work
✅ Strong knowledge of statutory processes and safeguarding
✅ Commitment to supporting and mentoring colleagues
✅ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced duty environment
