JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate should be a self-motivated Leader who is able to use their own initiative to establish their own priorities. They should have good knowledge of their own self-awareness and show drive and passion for executing projects whilst being an excellent people manager.
Job Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role but are not limited to:
1. Follow our FEL process to implement small to medium capital projects (<£2MM) to drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Plant Capacity and Operational Efficiency.
2. Support all phases of the project(s) including feasibility, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover ensuring all required deliverables are completed to plan and budget.
3. Projects will be predominantly chemical process orientated on a high hazard plant (COMAH-like) but may also include infrastructure and utility upgrades.
4. Utilize various project models such as EPC and EPCM tailored to suit the specific requirements of the project.
5. Support department initiatives to drive improvements in our standards and ways of working on capital projects.
6. Support production engineers, maintenance, and other plant functions when needed, for both capital and non-capital improvements.
7. Participate in our various SHEQ initiatives and be part of our Safety-First culture.
8. Ensure capital projects are compliant with applicable regulations and standards including process and functional safety.
9. Participate in our Continuous Improvement program to help achieve business targets.
Qualifications and DESIRED SKILLS
1. Degree in a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline or a similar relevant qualification.
2. Demonstrable success in managing capital projects in a manufacturing, process or production environment.
3. Excellent technical and engineering skills, communication skills including leading group meetings, and supervising/managing project teams of all fields including contractors.
4. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and use problem solving tools.
5. The ability to manage and organize time, interact with people from all levels of the organization and capable of sustaining a drive for excellence.
6. Ability to communicate clearly by written and verbal reporting and possess above average fluency with technical software.
7. Attention to detail should be an ingrained behaviour.
8. This position is in a 24/7 manufacturing plant environment and some extended working hours are required to complete aggressive shutdown and installation work schedules.
