Business Development Manager (BDM)
Location: Aberdeen, Scotland UK Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Full-time (Monday-Friday) Reporting to: Sales Director Overview:
Hardman Grey Recruitment is currently seeking a Business Development Manager on behalf of our client, a leading specialty chemicals company. Our client provides innovative production and drilling control fluids used by offshore energy and oil & gas companies globally. This dynamic business plays a key role in enhancing the performance of critical production processes, and they're looking for a driven BDM to contribute to their ongoing growth in emerging markets.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:
Managing key customer accounts across various geographical markets, including operators, drilling contractors, and OEMs.
Developing relationships and expanding the company's network with customers in the offshore production and drilling markets.
Identifying and creating new business opportunities, supporting the distributor network, and driving business growth.
Collaborating with the regional and global team, contributing market intelligence and supporting business planning and strategy.
Expanding the company's product footprint and gaining market share in emerging industries such as Offshore Energy and Carbon Capture.
Effectively utilizing the CRM system to track and manage the business development pipeline, ensuring continuous growth.
Regular travel within the EMEA region to engage with customers and support business development activities.
The ideal Business Development Manager candidate will have:
5-10 years of experience in business development, p referably experienced in chemical sales within the subsea, oil & gas sector, or OEMs specialising in chemicals.
A degree in Business or Engineering or a similar technical discipline, with experience in both technical and commercial/sales roles.
Strong understanding of product applications and the technical and environmental considerations involved in the business.
Proven ability to develop customer relationships at all levels—strategic, financial, operational, and technical.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present confidently to internal teams and customers.
Results-oriented mindset, capable of managing multiple projects and tasks with long-cycle planning.
Willing to travel within Europe and EMEA region
