Description As our new Materials Testing Technician, you’ll be supporting the Measurement Science Group and their customers by primarily performing materials testing on our composites, adhesives and other formulated polymeric products You will support the marine approval process for our products, liaising with the Senior Materials Testing Technicians, Materials Engineers and the Measurement Science Group manager to ensure the necessary procedures are followed. You’ll accurately record and report the test data, ensuring Department processes and procedures are followed at all times to ensure traceability of results. Some of your key responsibilities: You’ll carry out specimen preparation and perform mechanical testing on formulated polymeric materials. You will ensure that testing equipment is maintained in accordance with the departmental maintenance schedules. You will put safety first as you follow the laboratory’s and site’s Health & Safety and 6S rules and guidelines. What do I need to be successful in this role? You have the ability to record, monitor and update data clearly, accurately and in a timely manner. We’d love you to have previous experience in a laboratory and testing environment. You have knowledge of how to effectively work within cross functional team. You’ll have experience in following and completing specified testing and monitoring procedures accurately.
