THE ROLE This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our future success by applying engineering competence to maintaining and improving our factory. This role offers a great deal of variation. Whilst working within a small, dedicated team, your main focus will be to carry out maintenance repairs and improvements to both electrical and mechanical equipment. You will be responsible for providing breakdown response and fault diagnosis including being familiar with the use of maintenance systems. You will participate in factory improvement activities by working closely with both engineering and production colleagues, taking ownership of equipment areas for evaluation and contribute to our investment projects from initial design to commissioning. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Electrical installation or maintenance experience Knowledge of motor starting, single/three phase, direct online, star/delta, sort start, inverter drive etc Experience of plc's and control panels Automated machinery experience Welding, fabrication, pipework: stainless tig experience would be an advantage Refrigeration/ice machine experience: cat 1 f-gas would be an advantage Experience of food production maintenance/food hygiene General building fabric maintenance However, all candidates with an electrical or mechanical background will be considered. SKILLS REQUIRED Be a good team player and have the ability to work alone when required Inter-personal and excellent communication skills Have completed a modern or trade apprenticeship in a relevant field Have excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements Be a self starter, and be able to follow instructions Full UK driving licence. The successful candidate will be provided with a Company van.
