About the role We are seeking to appoint a postdoctoral research associate to work with Lewis Topley on his project "Geometric Representation Theory and W-algebras", funded via the UKRI FLF scheme. This phase of the grant is coming to an end, and so this is a short contract which will expire at the end of January 2025. For this reason, the window for applications is unfortunately short. The current focus of the project is the use of Yangians in the modular representation theory of classical Lie algebras. The successful candidate will have some or all of the following attributes: PhD in mathematics to be awarded before taking up the position A track record in modular representation theory, especially that of Lie algebras. Experience using methods from: algebraic geometry, combinatorics, group theory and non-commutative algebra. An interest in applying for further funding at the University of Bath.
