What You'll Do
As a Junior Payroll Clerk, you’ll help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be responsible for:
* Accurate Payroll Processing: Assisting in preparing and running payroll for our employees, ensuring everyone gets paid correctly and on time.
* Data Management: Updating payroll records with new hires, changes, and leavers while maintaining a keen eye for detail.
* Support & Queries: Helping team members and employees with payroll-related questions, offering clear answers and excellent service.
* Compliance: Learning and following UK payroll regulations to ensure everything is done right.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally 1 or 2 years payroll experience and just the right attitude and a willingness to learn! Here’s what will help you stand out:
* Qualification with the CIPP in terms of either a Payroll Technician Certificate or Year 1 of the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management completed, or equivalent, is highly desirable but not essential
* A strong work ethic and willingness to assist other members of the team when required.
* Able to multi-task and to prioritise payroll workload
* Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
* Have a knowledge of changes to legislation which effect payroll
* Attention to Detail: You’re organised and thrive on accuracy in your work.
* Numerical Confidence: Numbers don’t scare you—you’re comfortable working with them.
* Strong Communication Skills: You can explain things clearly and professionally, whether it’s to a teammate or an employee.
* Tech-Savvy: You’re familiar with basic office software (like Excel) and are quick to pick up new systems.
* Eager to Learn: You’re excited to build your career and develop new skills in payroll.
