About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary SEN Science Teacher to join a team at an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Wirral. This role is ideal for an experienced educator with a passion for science and a commitment to making a positive impact on young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
In this rewarding position, you will work with primary-aged students, delivering engaging science lessons tailored to each child’s learning style and individual needs. With an opportunity for this position to transition into a permanent role, we are looking for someone who demonstrates not only subject expertise but also kindness, compassion, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated science lessons that meet the needs of children with SEN and SEMH challenges.
* Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment to support students in developing both academically and personally.
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support to students.
* Manage challenging behaviours with a calm and compassionate approach, employing effective de-escalation techniques.
* Provide consistent, positive role modeling for students, helping to build their confidence, social skills, and resilience.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Proven experience teaching in an SEN or SEMH setting, preferably with primary-aged children.
* Strong subject knowledge in science, with the ability to adapt content for varied abilities.
* Demonstrable experience managing challenging behaviour in a way that promotes growth and learning.
* Compassionate, kind, and resilient nature with a commitment to supporting the unique needs of each child.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
