Assistant Claims Manager – Marine & Energy
London/Hybrid
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Claims Professional to join our Marine & Energy team in London as an Assistant Claims Manager. In this role, you will enhance your skills and knowledge by managing a diverse portfolio of claims, including Energy Liability (with a significant proportion from the US) and Marine (covering cargo, specie, and ports and terminals). Additionally, you will provide management and support to your wider team across multiple locations.

Your new role:
* Ensure that the team follows processes and procedures to ensure compliance with both statutory and corporate service standards and statutory regulations.
* Maintain efficient handling of your own caseload (mainly high value US Energy Liability claims) to ensure the prompt, timely and effective handling of Claims.
* Provide superb customer service combined with Claims excellence and develop relationships to meet customer needs and ensure customer retention and resolve customer service issues to ensure their prompt and timely resolution.
* Work with the Claims team to build and maintain relationships which support the acquisition and retention of profitable business.
* Produce monthly reports and any ad hoc reporting on existing and new Claims to identify actions for Underwriters. Ensure the accurate reporting of monthly reserving positions.
* Interrogate and monitor statistical reports as and when produced to ensure accuracy and quality of data.
* Supervise a team of Claims staff to ensure the overall output and quality of the service provided by the team is within specified service levels.
* Support the continuing personal and professional development of all team members through the PMP and PDP process, including identifying any training needs.
About you:
* Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance specifically in US Energy Liability.
* Preferably ACII or legally qualified.
* Knowledge of MI creation techniques and software; creation of reports.
* Ability to manage time effectively whilst having strong planning and organisational capabilities.
* Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in building and maintaining relationships with strong influencing skills.
