Hyndburn is a great place to work. Over recent years we’ve established an impressive reputation as a Council with a strong sense of direction and an enviable record for improving services and getting things done. We now have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team.
Based at Accrington Cemetery but also covering the cemeteries in Church, Great Harwood and Rishton, you will have a horticultural background with at least two years experience working in a grounds maintenance, cemetery or landscaping environment and will be qualified to NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
If successful you will become a valued member of our front line cemetery & crematorium team and, as such, will need to work both on your own initiative and within a team. A current driving license is essential for this post holder.
You must be sensitive to the needs of the bereaved and be flexible, as there is a requirement to work weekends/bank holidays and over the Christmas period on a rota basis for Book of Remembrance duty at Accrington Cemetery office and to assist with occasional weekend burials & cremations.
If you are as passionate about delivering results as we are, and if you want a job where you can be part of a team that’s making a real difference, we’d like to hear from you.
