Job summary Band 7 MRI Lead Specialist Radiographer We have exciting opportunity for experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and reflective radiographers to help lead our MRI team as a Band 7 MRI Lead Specialist Radiographer. Comprised of multiple sites, the successful candidates will be based at based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital in East Birmingham. The department operates 4 Philips MRI systems, three 1.5T and one 3T systems. The Imaging Directorate provides 24/7 service delivery and has an established track record of service re-design and transformation. We have recently opened a multi-million-pound treatment centre at Heartlands (HTC) with state-of-the-art CT and MRI services. Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a leading tertiary referral hospital specialising in complex neurosurgery, liver transplant, radiotherapy and regional trauma centre. Applicants will need to have at least 3 years of MRI experience, strong interpersonal skills and show evidence of ongoing professional development. We will provide an allocated mentor, induction program, CPD opportunities with protected study time and opportunities to progress career development. There will be development opportunities to develop Advanced Clinical Practice and further Management skills. Main duties of the job Successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the MRI service. This will include: Providing highly skilled and specialised MRI imaging for patients within the imaging department. Ensuring optimal image quality and high standards of care. Both through direct supervision and routine audit of image quality and diagnostic performance. Line management responsibilities including involvement in HR procedures, staff rosters and training. Participation in a 7-day rota including weekend and bank holiday. The service does operate an extended working day with flexible shift patterns and on-call service. Recruitment, selection and retention of staff. Collaborating with Modality lead to implement and manage change within the service, contribute to development and identify service needs. Candidates must be a qualified radiographer with post graduate qualification in MRI or equivalent experience and hold current HCPC registration.
