Job summary
We are looking for Senior Imaging Technician to join theTheatres at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust FT. As a UniversityTrust, you will have the chance to grow, develop and to be the best that youcan be.
The post holder will provide a Visual Field andOphthalmic Imaging Service as well as overseeing training of imagers and auditof image quality. They will also provide Ophthalmic imaging and Visual Fieldmeasurement for, Out-patients / in-patients and people attending Eye casualtyat UHS.
Main duties of the job
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Delivery of specialised clinicaldiagnostic imaging procedures, which meet the highest possible standards with avery high degree of reproducibility.
Accurately enter patient datainto each imaging platform, to ensure the images captured are for the correctpatient.
In liaison with specialistOphthalmic Consultants, Optometrists and Nursing staff, to ensure accuratediagnosis and care pathway for the patient.
Complete imaging of patientsRetina, Optic Discs, Corneas using a variety of equipment including, Funduscamera and software programmes for fluorescein angiography, Indocyanine Greenangiography and retinal photography.
The testing of patients visualfields and visual acuity for diagnosis and treatment.
Assessment of patients abilityto pass the DVLA (Driving Vehicle Licensing Authority) requirement for VisualFields and Visual Acuity.
Analyse, judge and advise onimaging requests.
Manage own imaging workloadworkflow including allocation of tasks and prioritisation of workload, toensure the effective and efficient delivery of the imaging service
Review test results andcommunicate with doctors where urgent intervention is required.
Use image manipulation andgraphics software to optimise image acquisition.
Monitoring of equipment levels and equipmentperformance, reporting and ordering supplies, ordering and liaising withmanufactures as to service and repair.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Should be proficient and confident in the imaging of patients Retina, Optic Discs and Corneas using: Optical Coherence Tomography (; Retinal Fundal Photography; Other ophthalmic imaging equipment as necessary.
Desirable
2. Demonstrate awareness of NHS
