An Exciting Leadership Opportunity in a Transforming Service
Leeds CYPMHS is undergoing an exciting redesign, and we are seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to play a key role in shaping the future of our service. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide strategic leadership, deliver high-quality care, and support the development of a multi-disciplinary team.
About the Role
* Full-time (10 sessions per week) with part-time/job share options considered
* On-call responsibilities included
* City-wide role with an identified base
* Opportunity to engage in postgraduate teaching and research
You will be a motivated and reliable professional, bringing enthusiasm and expertise to support children and young people with a range of mental health presentations in both core and Learning Disability (LD) services. The role involves holding a caseload, conducting assessments and reviews, and providing clinical leadership across local and whole-service multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs). You will work collaboratively with colleagues and system partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic direction and professional clinical leadership
* Deliver high-quality direct clinical care to diverse communities
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
* Support collaborative decision-making across clinical and operational teams
* Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
* Supervise and appraise junior medical staff
* Undertake Mental Health Act and Responsible Clinician duties
* Provide specialist prescribing support for complex cases
* Attend system meetings in person or via digital platforms
* Actively participate in service-wide meetings and forums
What We’re Looking For
* Consultant Psychiatrist on the Specialist Register
* Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic skills
* Commitment to collaborative working and service development
* Flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to travel across the city
* Previous experience in multi-agency and multi-disciplinary teams (GMC guidance aligned)
* Experience in healthcare systems is desirable (training provided)
