About the Role:
6. This role will report to the Global Head CPRM and has no direct reports.
7. Responsible for developing strategy and managing price risk across direct, indirect and guidance commodities for Diageo, with accountability for financial performance on assigned commodities.
8. Employ the use of financial instruments (futures, options, and swaps) and dynamic supplier fixations to achieve best in class pricing, that meets the business’s risk appetite.
9. Execute and capture derivative hedges and supplier fixations in Diageo TMS and SAP systems.
10. Ensure compliance with Diageo’s CPRM Operating Mandate in association with Treasury and Finance, and IFRS9 Hedge Accounting requirements; participate in various Middle Office activities by reviewing position and risk reports in line with Diageo compliance requirements. Ensure accurate reporting for all commodity positions and exposures.
11. Lead team to ensure commodity categories are effectively understood and researched, using best in class price risk management techniques (i.e., Fundamental, and technical analysis) alongside providing macroeconomic insights to support the overall CPRM Strategy.
12. Lead engagement strategy calls for assigned commodities across the Procurement Category Teams to align on strategy direction and support in education development.
13. Collaborate with Procurement Category Teams to embed and maintain Diageo standard hedging clauses within our supply contracts.
14. Support in driving improvement and simplification in processes within CPRM and cross-functional teams.
15. Drive the CPRM expansion agenda, to support on untapped commodities across Diageo’s global supply footprint.
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages:
16. To be successful in this role you will have experience in commodity price risk management or equivalent experience within a commodity supply chain or financial institution.
17. You will have an understanding of commodity markets, risk methods, financial instruments, and valuation techniques with a specialization in one of Diageo’s commodity categories, across Agriculture, Metals or Energy.
18. You’ll have strong analytical acumen and qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
19. Experience managing supplier contracts with the ability to embed new pricing formulas and index link embedded commodity exposures.
