Project Engineer
Location: Lechlade
Salary: £38,000 - £43,000 Per Annum
Our client, a global leader in their field, is recruiting for a Project Engineer to support their continuous improvement activities and be responsible for all aspects of front-end engineering.
Project Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Work across the business with various departments to support NPI, Projects, Manufacturing processes, quotations, and procurement.
2. Liaise with customers to understand customer requirements, specifications, and drawings.
3. Create design packs, general assembly drawings, wiring diagrams/schematics, Bill of Materials (BoM), Work Instructions, Test methods, and both electrical and mechanical manufacturing drawings.
4. Be responsible for all changes including production, using the change control process.
5. Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events and applying LEAN methodologies.
6. Review build practices and implement test jigs, fixtures, and process improvements to help drive quality improvements.
7. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly data and analytics to the business.
8. Be pro-active in health & safety matters, documenting and reporting unsafe practices.
9. Support quotation and procurement with part and alternative reviews.
10. Use 8D or other recognized problem-solving methodology, carrying out root cause analysis.
The ideal Project Engineer will:
1. Come from a strong engineering background (with relevant qualifications).
2. Have an understanding of configuration control and product structure.
3. Have experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Solidworks, Fusion, Vault, & Inventor (or similar design software).
4. Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and convey technical engineering issues in simpler terms.
5. Have knowledge of Design for Manufacture principles and the ability to apply these to new and current designs.
