Main duties of the job
As a deputy play and youth services manager you will co-lead a sub team of the larger team, leading on staffing, rotas and service delivery. Staff support including direct line management for a group of staff including 121s, recruitment, health roster and leadership responsibility.
Providing day-to-day support to team members in clinical areas, organising service delivery cover and planning will be able to continue to expand and develop the play and youth service to grow and improve.

As one of three deputy play and youth services managers, you will co-lead one of the three sub teams that form our larger play and youth services team. These sub teams currently consist of daycare, an outpatient service, children/young people and young adult cancer services, and inpatient services.

The Play and Youth Services Team are a large multi-skilled workforce consisting of Registered Health Play Specialists, Youth Support Coordinators, Youth workers and young adult support coordinators working trust-wide with 0-25 year-olds. The service is led by the Lead for Therapeutic Play, Recreation and Youth Services, 2 Deputy play services managers and Team leaders who have a dual clinical and leadership role. Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
* Registered & qualified Health Play Specialist holding the Foundation Degree in Health Care Play Specialism or previous HPSC/HPSEB, Edexcel PDC/HND in Hospital Play Specialism or overseas equivalent.
* Further training in relevant field such as neurodiversity, mental health, youth work.
* Management training modules.
* Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development For example Counselling Skills certificate, Supervisory Skills Training, Presentation skills, Published articles, Conference Presentations.
* Detailed knowledge of the principles and application of clinical governance.
Desirable
* Training in Guided Imagery, Adolescent Development, Teaching adults.
* Bachelor's Degree (or overseas equivalent) in a subject relevant to work with children and/or young people.
