Brierley Hill Primary School is looking to appoint a part-time receptionist and administrator from Spring 2025. We are a one-form entry school catering for pupils from 3-11 years situated within the borough of Dudley, in the heart of the Black Country. The school has served the local community for over a century and many families have attended the school for several generations. Brierley Hill is an area that faces many challenges for its young people, but equally demonstrates a strong community spirit and the pupils, parents and staff are justly proud of our diverse heritage. Our School Administrator is the first point of call to welcome visitors to the school, be it parents, children, contractors or other professionals. You will provide professional front of house support and adhere to the schools’ safeguarding policy and procedures at all times. It is a busy and fast-paced environment. Our Administrator should be highly organised, focused, personable and helpful. In addition, it is essential that the person for this role is: • Be empathetic to the barriers that some pupils/parents have and be provide a supportive, yet professional, approach Able to multitask, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work, as no two days are the same. • Computer literate with knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Excel, Word) and the Internet. • Able to work under their own initiative and deal confidentially with duties as required. • Able to provide an excellent telephone manner. • Proactive in supporting staff, children and visitors to the school. • Able to demonstrate existing knowledge of school systems such as Integris (would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided). • Able to demonstrate previous experience of working within a busy office environment. Interviews will be held week commencing 10th February 2025. The post will be between 32.5-37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, Hours are likely to need to include 8.20 am. to 3.35 pm with a 45 minute lunch break, but exact hours will be agreed with the successful candidate.
