Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Manager - Cambridge - Attractive salary
ALH Recruitment are looking for an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Manager with immediate effect for our client in the Cambridgeshire area.
POSITION:
The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manager leads their departments install and maintenance team. This department repairs and maintains all aspects of A/C and Refrigeration installations and systems in both residential and commercial buildings. In their day-to-day duties they will be directly responsible to the Managing Director and all queries relating to these duties should be addressed to them. This manager routinely works directly with the operations department, Commercial MEPH department, A/C install engineers, other managers and clients to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting departmental goals and objectives. Presenting themselves as a company representative, the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manager often communicates directly with customers and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of job or project status and `requirements.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manager directs daily operations of the department by successfully performing the following tasks, duties and responsibilities:
Schedules, directs and provides technical support for the engineers to meet service demands and customer’s expectations
Recruits, interviews, hires and trains new engineers as required to meet workload demands, and company or customer expectations and requirements
Supervises and directs the engineers to effectively perform the functions of equipment repair, installation, operation, and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction
To drive the compilation of commercial tenders and present them to the client for approval and/or discussion.
Reviews engineer’s work to ensure quality meets established standards, techniques and safety requirements; makes recommendations as requirements to improve quality and productivity
Communicates regularly with the other department leads and works hand in hand with Commercial Service Maintenance and Projects along with the operations department and other internal employees, reporting on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labour hours and parts or material used
Reviews work orders, purchase invoices and time reports for accuracy, and invoice clients in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage and review the Budgets and goals within their division to ensure comparable levels of profitability
Attend Senior Management meetings with other departmental leads and report to the Managing Director
Reviews work orders, invoices and time reports for accuracy, and to ensure timely cash flow and maintain minimal account receivables
Specifies and makes sure that required parts are ordered in timely fashion to ensure work deadlines are met
Ensures that all company/department policies are being followed by all engineers
Adopts the role of reporting all installations through the correct trade or governing body (F-Gas)
Keeps current with latest training on current products, coordinates engineers training and maintains training records to ensure personnel maintain proficiency in preventive maintenance, fault finding and repairs of relevant equipment.
Work with other departmental managers to meet company and departmental goals and objectives
Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manager should possess the following skills, characteristics and abilities:
* Excellent customer service and sales skills
* Five years industry specific related experience; or desire to progress from a hands on role
* Some post-secondary education from college or trade school.
* Exhibit an in-depth knowledge and understanding of A/C and Refrigeration installation and maintenance
* Has the ability to read, interpret, utilise and train on manuals, schematics and control circuits related to A/C and Refrigeration systems
* Technical aptitude with knowledge of current systems and an ability to use resources at hand to find solutions
* Passion for health, safety, environment and quality – positive culture.
* Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced and motivate engineers and other team members
* Detail oriented and organised with a desire to listen, learn and succeed
* Good computer skills: knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and general software navigation
* Have a clean, neat and professional appearance; an individual who can instil pride of workmanship in himself and in others
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and background
