Job Description
NPI Engineer required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational Aerospace client in Shannon, County Clare. Permanent role.
Responsibilities
1. Preparing Project Plans for NPI projects, including the project scope, development of budgets and schedules.
2. Establishing project team / resource planning for projects.
3. Monitoring the progress of projects against agreed plans and managing activities to deliver against agreed goals.
4. Conducting project reviews with project team and management, ensuring all concerned are updated on progress.
5. Maintaining adequate documentation of all aspects of the project.
6. Conduct management review upon completion of the project to verify the success of the project against the budget, product cost & schedule and record lessons learned.
7. Determining the preferred technology / process equipment for the repair.
8. Verifying the proposed repair will meet the target cost constraints.
9. Detailing the repair steps and identifying the trials / experiments required to verify that the methods / processes meet the approval requirements
10. Defining the tooling & fixture specifications / requirements and liaising with the tooling design engineer to develop cost effective solutions and provide optimum efficiency and flexibility for production.
11. Conducting engineering trials & experiments necessary to verify the process.
12. Preparing the Technical Plan (TP) / Repair Source Substantiation (RSS) documentation for substantiation of repairs.
13. Liaising with the OEM or EASA DOA to obtain approvals in a timely manner.
14. Identifying the up-front requirements of all stake holders - Production Team, Quality, EH&S, Maintenance, etc.
15. Procuring new equipment required for the product introduction in accordance with company procedures.
16. Ensuring necessary product information is provided in a timely manner to Commercial to support product launch.
17. Conducting final project review with Operations / Quality / EH&S to close and sign the product transfer to production.
18. Monitor the product cost / profitability for 1st 6 months of production to ensure target costs are achieved.
Requirements:
19. Degree level preferably in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
20. 3 years plus experience in an Engineering role.
21. Ability to understand complex processes involving multiple disciplines.
22. Strong analytical / problem solving skills.
23. Confident and effective decision maker.
24. Methodical and structured approach to establishing hand assessing process stability i.e. Lean / 6 Sigma.
25. Excellent presentation skills and written/verbal communication skills.
26. Demonstrated success in solving problems within intricate environments.
27. Coordinating and overseeing project activities experience is essential.
28. Meticulous attention to detail and expertise in documenting processes.
