Mary Hare educates 200 profoundly deaf children at its residential school in Berkshire and we pride ourselves on our pupils’ achievements at GCSE, A Level as well as B Tech and Vocational Courses. We offer the opportunity to teach highly motivated children, in small classes, where you can make a real difference at this national centre of excellence for deaf education. No knowledge of sign language is required, as we follow an auditory/oral philosophy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with marketing & admissions events
* Assist with photography for social media and other outlets
* Prepare posts for social media
* Liaise with staff in school to source stories and content for social media, website, Haremail, and Soundwave
* Organise marketing materials for staff attending external events
* Create mailings using Mailchimp
* Support the Development Director in keeping the website up to date and current
* Assist with the proofing and production of marketing materials
* Any other tasks in support of marketing as required
No specific experience of marketing is required for this role. Some knowledge of Mailchimp or Canva would be useful; otherwise, training will be given. An interest in and confidence using technology for communications is necessary. You will need to have attention to detail, good writing skills, and be able to work unsupervised.
You will assist the Development Director to carry out marketing activities to promote Mary Hare School and some of its associated activities. You will be based in the Development Team office.
Person Specification
* General Secondary Education or equivalent (English and Maths essential)
Knowledge and Experience
* Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice within an education setting
* Knowledge of marketing databases
* Experience of working in marketing

* Ability to generate ideas for campaigns
* An eye for detail and ability to oversee production of printed & digital materials
* Organised and self-motivated, with a proven record for meeting targets and deadlines
