Our client in Cambridge is looking for a licensed 309A OR 442A Electrician to join their team on the Afternoon shift, Monday to Friday from 3:30pm- 11:30pm!

Candidates MUST be a licensed electrician!
Responsibilities:
* Modify, maintain, or repair electrical, electronic, or mechanical components, equipment, or systems to ensure proper functioning.
* Install or program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.
* Consult with mechanics to ensure that electromechanical equipment or systems meet design specifications.
* Routine preventative maintenance of high-speed production equipment.
* Troubleshooting and repair manufacturing and production equipment to minimize line downtime and optimize production quality and efficiencies.
* Carry out PLC troubleshooting and programming changes as required.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects and complete assigned work orders according to PM schedules to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and safety.
* Involved with equipment installations and modifications as required.
* Work in a safe manner ensuring all safety procedures are followed and ensuring compliance with legislation and electrical standards.
* Report any issues to maintenance planning coordinator immediately.
* Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices and use of personal protective equipment.
* Adhere to food safety and GMP requirements while performing maintenance tasks to ensure safety and quality.
* Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
* Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure safety of system.
* Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
* Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
* Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
* Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
* Electric and automation troubleshooting and installation.
* Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
* Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
* Must hold one of the two primary electrician licenses in Ontario: a Construction and Maintenance (C&M) 309A license or an Industrial Electrician 442A.
* Proven experience as an electrician.
* Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
* Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
* Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
* Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
* Strong PLC programming knowledge required.
* Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
* Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
* Must hold a valid license to practice profession.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Must be able to bend, twist, stand and lift up to 50lbs in the course of daily work.
