Summary of the Role:
The Draughting Engineer is responsible for providing full administrative project support to the internal Deepwater Engineering team, supporting the successful completion of projects to time and within budgeted costs.
Responsibilities:
Budgets/proposals
· Assisting the wider engineering team in the preparation of CP engineering/commercial project proposals, working closely with Deepwater EU’s sub-suppliers to obtain timely and accurate costings, predicted timelines, etc.
Administrative Engineering tasks
· Preparation of technical designs or drawings using specialist software in accordance with approved design procedures and systems (Solidworks, AutoCAD, Draftsight).
· Assuming responsibility for project administration on assigned projects as delegated by the project manager; this may include project co-ordination, logistics & travelling and document control activities.
· Assisting with the assessment of factual and interpretive information arising from field observations, site investigations, and technical review.
· Assisting the engineering team in carrying out feasibility studies and the assessment of environmental impact of remedial and completed works.
· Managing the delivery of a small programme of work, associated with a project, with minimal supervision
· Supporting and promoting the principles, processes and culture that underpin the Company’s Quality Management System accreditation to ISO 9001.
Off-site requirements
· Undertaking services within an onshore engineering environment which may include (but not limited to); scheme investigation, site inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, and assembly works/construction inspection and supervision (once the necessary training has been completed).
· Undertaking services within an offshore environment which may include; oil and gas platforms, wind turbines and substations at short notice (once the necessary training has been completed).
Qualifications
Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
Working knowledge of SolidWorks AutoCAD, Draftsight
Willingness to travel offshore as required.
Willingness to travel to other sites as required
NACE certificate (Desirable)
Experience in the oil and gas industry (Desirable)
Experience of project co-ordination (Desirable)
