Responsibilities
for this HSE Officer role:
1. Advise and assist managers in understanding and implementing required Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures.
2. Conduct regular health, safety, COSHH, and fire safety surveys, as well as surveillance audits in manufacturing areas, in line with legislative requirements.
3. Ensure all new employees receive health, safety, and environmental induction training, maintain training records, and ensure all employees are qualified for their roles.
4. Coordinate SHEQ communications, including delivering Toolbox Talks and training sessions as required.
5. Implement actions identified in external audits or business reviews within agreed timescales.
6. Stay updated on legislative changes and industry best practices, recommending necessary changes to procedures.
7. Regularly report SHE trends, issues, and risks to the Senior SHEQ Manager and support the company in maintaining accreditations.
8. Collaborate with the SHEQ department to support initiatives, audits, policy reviews, and Health & Safety practice improvements.
Key Requirements for this HSE Officer role:
9. Ideally 2+ years of experience working in a similar role
10. Formal Health & Safety or Environmental Qualification
11. Competent IT Skills - Microsoft Office Suite
12. Internal Auditor experience highly desirable
13. Excellent communication skills across all internal and external stakeholders
Package offered for this HSE Officer role:
14. Salary up to £43,000 (DOE)
