Job Title: Water / Wastewater Superintendent Job Summary: We are looking for a Utility / Industrial Superintendent, who as a member of the field management team, the Superintendent will partner with the Project Manager to oversee all aspects of the assigned projects from commencement to completion. Superintendent will have the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the clients, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors while successfully enforcing the budget for their projects, as well as supervising workers and field personnel in implementing the plan, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with contract documents and scheduling in a manner that exceeds the clients� expectations. The Superintendent will ensure that the project adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. This position reports to the Director of Operations. Major Duties and Responsibilities Be our primary contact with the client, building and maintaining client relationships Ensure all safety measures and regulations are followed, as accident prevention and worker safety are high priorities Monitor work progress and coordinate with the site coordinators or general superintendents to deliver progress reports Oversee installation of electrical systems in a new project or inspect and repair of electrical systems in an existing building. Work to make sure contractors� terms are fulfilled and disputes are resolved. Supervise workers, foreman to ensure their work follows specifications, contract documents, plans and is on schedule. Handle correspondence and forms such as daily reports, time sheets, accidents reports, etc. Assist with cost estimating and monitor project activities for strict compliance with plans and specifications. Minimize change orders through efficient planning and coordination. Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personal in order for complete installations. Assist with timely close-out and punch list completion. Set clear goals and expectations and provide coaching/counseling to foreman. Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with client as well as effectively lead the trades. Ensure completion of projects and track all independent testing and inspection as required. Monitor site safety, ensuring OSHA requirements are enforced. Maintain control and enforce good electrical and quality control. Inform the Client of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained with the Client�s design drawings. Control and monitor labor, material and equipment expenses. Manage all jobs close-out procedures. Manage delivery of weekly safety meetings and daily toolbox talks. Conduct post project reviews to determine areas for future improvement. Develop/maintain network of professional relationships within our industry Work closely with Director of Operations, internal and external stakeholders to maximize team efficiency and organization throughout all project phases. Key Performance Criteria High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate in Electrical Wiring or comparable experience required Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a foreman in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures using blueprints, schematics and sketches and OSHA 30 certified 3-5 years supervisory experience Experience managing materials and personnel requirements necessary to meet schedule. Excellence in communications; both written and oral Leadership skills Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders Proven relationship building and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders Strong analytical skills to assist with decision making Track record of successfully managing and motivating teams This description is intended to be generic in nature.
