A vacancy has arisen for a FTSA in Neurosurgery at STRL level within the department of Neurosurgery based at the University Hospital of Wales. The post is to commence on the 6th February 2025 until 5th August 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated candidate interested in a career in neurology to work at registrar training grade level in the Neurosurgery department Cardiff.
Main duties of the job:
1. Manage the inpatient Neurosurgery ward and junior medical team under consultant supervision.
2. Participate in outpatient clinics and day unit.
3. Be part of the out-of-hours resident on-call rota (evenings only till 9.30pm).
The successful candidate will gain exposure to the full range of acute and long-term neurological conditions and have training opportunities alongside the other registrars in the department, and to develop their own interests or projects within the needs of the department.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants need to have completed MRCP (part 2 and PACES), or equivalent; some previous experience in a neurology post would be an advantage but not essential.
