Job purpose: We have an exciting opportunity for a multi-disciplinary nurse to join our incredible multidiscipline nursing team This role will provide a fantastic learning opportunity for an RVN who is looking to expand their nursing skills/knowledge or for the individual with established referral experience looking to utilise their knowledge and skills in a supportive, encouraging environment. As a member of the multidiscipline nursing team, you will be rotating through all of our departments. This will allow you to gain experience, whilst being fully supported by our discipline specific teams. The hospital accepts referrals for Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology and Physiotherapy. Your daily duties will include: Following practice policies and SOPs relating to specific tasks and departments. Providing in-patient care ensuring a high level of nursing. Monitoring patients in recovery (from sedation or General Anaesthesia). Carrying out blood samples and parameter measurements for in-patients. Calculating, preparing and the administration of pre-prescribed medications, as directed by a clinician. Ensuring the appropriate feeding of all patients. Maintaining hygiene standards, including observation of barrier and cytotoxic nursing protocols. Setting and maintaining nursing standards to a professional level. Keeping tidy, accurate and legible patent records of all treatments, events and communications. Supporting the patient care assistance team within their role. Recording of all client communications within the computer records. Monitoring General Anaesthetics and sedations when on a discipline rotation. Assisting patient admits – examinations, IV catheter placements and blood sample. Assisting with surgical and medical procedures. Ensuring equipment is clean and well maintained. You will work as a part of the growing team and be involved in developing procedures and ways of working for the hospital. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40hrs a week (either 8hr x 5 days or 10hr x 4 days). Weekends are 1:4 working either Saturday OR Sunday.
