Role: Infrastructure Train Planner
Location: Crewe
As an Infrastructure Train Planner, you will carry out the planning of workloads efficiently and effectively to comply with network code and industry processes. You will work within the wider planning team to ensure that the weekly train plan is implemented in a timely and efficient manner, liaising with industry contacts as necessary. Particular emphasis will be placed upon producing a plan that maximises profitability for Freightliner Heavy Haul whilst meeting customer requirements.
You will be required to work as part of the planning team to deliver the weekly train plan as required to provide a first-class service to both customer and Freightliner Heavy Haul.
Key Role Activities:
* Examination of Network Rail documentation and possession train orders.
* Production of train crew diagrams making most efficient use of the driver resources.
* Liaising as necessary with industry partners and suppliers.
* Work with operations and rosters as required.
* Work as required to ensure that all duties are carried out.
Although no specific experience is required, a good knowledge of freight train operations with a sound knowledge of UK geography is preferred.
You should also possess excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to produce diagrams for operational staff which are compliant with all internal and industry terms & conditions. Good computer skills, including the ability to use NROL (training provided), TOPS/TRUST and general office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
