Role: Temporary Financial Accountant
HOURS: 9am - 5.30pm
SALARY: £15
LOCATION: Hammersmith

What you will be doing...
1. Assist with the preparation of the monthly management results, including updating the month-end model
2. Take ownership of the trial balance, including preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
3. Prepare and process month-end journals and reports
4. Prepare variance analysis and commentary for cost areas, working closely with budget holders to understand their results
5. Review the T&E report and facilitate discussions with management
6. Ensure compliance with T&E policy by approving T&E reports in Concur
7. Manage recharges, including invoicing costs to wider group entities and regularly reconciling recharge control accounts
8. Prepare the weekly cashflow
9. Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and yearly ONS returns
10. Be responsible for the UK VAT return
11. Support the Head of Finance with the completion of the audit field work
12. Assist with the first draught of the consolidated annual financial statements
13. Prepare supporting documentation and assist with calculations for the corporation tax computation
14. Prepare the first draught of the annual calculation of PSA payment ready for review
15. Support the financial planning process, including budgets, quarterly forecasts, and the 5-year plan
16. Assist other team members in the approval and processing of supplier invoices relating to finance, when appropriate
17. Identify, develop, and implement process and systems improvements
18. Provide ad-hoc support for the Head of Finance when required
To be successful in this role you will have...
1. Excellent communication skills, both face to face and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with non-financial colleagues
2. Excellent time management skills, confidently managing conflicting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
3. Well-developed autonomy and proactive working style
4. Part-qualified ACCA, ACA, or internationally recognised financial/accounting qualification
5. Competence in using ERP financial systems, such as SAP, BPC, and Concur
6. Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills, specifically pivot tables and look ups
7. Excellent understanding and application of month-end close and reporting
8. Experience working in a multicurrency reporting environment
9. Proven experience in the management of external audit
10. Experience in financial statement compilation
11. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including knowledge of debits, credits, prepayments, accruals, and commitments
12. Highly numerate with demonstrable problem-solving skills to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information that adds value
13. Ability to anticipate and provide additional information when necessary
14. Keen attention to detail and the ability to review and interrogate information prepared by others
