The Estates Directorate is seeking to recruit a skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to join the Estates Corporate Services Team.
The successful candidate will support in managing the performance of one of the largest PFI contracts in the region, providing a unique experience and opportunity to develop within the organisation, while supporting clinical staff to deliver the highest standard of patient care.
37 hours 30 minutes/week
Main duties of the job
* Manage PFI partners for engineering, technical, and compliance matters at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital.
* Lead projects, compliance auditing, and decarbonisation initiatives related to engineering services.
* Assist and support the Associate Director - Estates Corporate Services and Operational Manager Estates Corporate Services.
* Develop and implement systems to audit and monitor services provided by external service providers.
* Drive continuous improvement in service delivery to enhance the patient environment.
* Act as a key contact for the Trust in dealings with PFI partners.
* Identify opportunities to improve service delivery quality and efficiency.
* Maintain performance management systems for PFI partners.
* Provide expertise in performance indicators and national targets.
* Respond to complaints in line with the Trust's Complaints Procedure.
* Review PFIs monthly performance reports and produce feasibility and business case reports.
* Organise and chair monthly Service Performance Group meetings.
* Manage delivery of engineering systems and lifecycle works through Service Performance Group meetings.
* Conduct research & development surveys, audits, and benchmarking as required.
* Agree maintenance programs with PFI representatives, liaising with clinical teams.
* Develop and implement an audit programme for all estates services.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Minimum of a degree in a related field (or equivalent qualification/experience) with significant experience at management level.
* Supplemental qualification such as member of a professional body in building services or estates.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of national standards relating to facilities services and audit processes.
* Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of engineering services in a large acute hospital.
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to lead and inspire others.
