Please note that this vacancy is based at our Old Windsor centre.
Our Dog Operations team is responsible for delivering the highest standards of animal welfare and care for every dog in their journey through Battersea, from intake, to their care and assessments and then to rehoming.
We are currently looking to recruit a Team Leader for our Old Windsor dog intake team. This role will be responsible for recruitment, development, engagement and performance management of the team, and ensuring that they have sufficient training, support and resources to carry out their roles effectively.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience of successfully motivating, managing and developing a high-performance team, including setting clearly defined objectives and managing performance, and working knowledge of the behaviour of dogs and the challenges they face in a rescue environment with proven experience of providing advice on dog behaviour and training.

Working with our dogs and cats:
We are here for every dog and cat. Within our operational roles, this means providing the highest level of care and husbandry to our animals. Every day will be different and will sometimes involve emotionally challenging situations. Battersea has created an ethos of open conversations and carefully curated wellbeing initiatives to support our employees handling these scenarios. It is also important to note that the role is very physical and does involve a lot of manual tasks which are required to provide the exceptional standards of care to our animals. We ask you to consider these aspects of the role carefully before applying.
