We are looking for a passionate and creative Volunteer Social Media Assistant to help expand our digital presence and engage with our online community.
Position Overview:
The Volunteer Social Media Assistant will play a key role in supporting Freeminds Foundation’s online communication efforts by managing and growing our social media channels. This role is ideal for individuals with a knack for storytelling, a passion for social causes, and a desire to enhance their skills in social media strategy. You will work closely with our team to create compelling content that promotes our mission, engages followers, and helps raise awareness about the foundation’s work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation & Curation:
o Assist in developing engaging and impactful content (graphics, videos, articles) for Freeminds Foundation’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
o Create content related to social mobility, community empowerment, and Freeminds Foundation’s projects to keep followers informed and inspired.
2. Social Media Management:
o Help manage and schedule social media posts using tools such as Canva or other social media management platforms.
o Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, responding where appropriate to engage the community and maintain a positive brand presence.
3. Audience Engagement:
o Interact with followers and supporters by engaging in conversations, answering questions, and encouraging user-generated content.
o Build relationships with online communities, influencers, and like-minded organizations to increase visibility and impact.
4. Analytics and Reporting:
o Track and analyze social media performance using metrics such as reach, engagement, and follower growth.
o Provide feedback on what types of content are performing well and suggest areas for improvement.
5. Campaign Support:
o Collaborate with the team to support social media campaigns that raise awareness for Freeminds Foundation’s initiatives, fundraising events, and volunteer opportunities.
o Assist in developing strategies to grow our audience and reach new supporters.
6. Stay Current on Social Media Trends:
o Keep up to date with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates, bringing new ideas to the team to enhance our digital presence.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and an understanding of how to engage and grow an online audience.
* Creativity: Ability to develop visually appealing and engaging content that reflects Freeminds Foundation’s mission and values.
* Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey messages clearly and effectively.
* Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and schedule posts across multiple platforms and track engagement metrics.
* Passion for Social Causes: A strong interest in social mobility, community development, and advocacy.
* Basic Graphic Design Skills (Preferred): Familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Spark is a plus but not required.
