How you'll help us make health happen:
As the Cromwell Hospital's Governance Manager, you shall play a crucial role in building, delivering, and maintaining a governance function that enables the hospital to successfully deliver its strategic objectives by embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement and learning throughout all aspects of service delivery and across all staff roles.
You'll ensure there is an overarching framework covering all clinical and non-clinical activities that help sustain and improve high standards of patient care and evidence that high standards of quality, safety and effectiveness are maintained when putting any structures.
What you'll do:
* Lead on the clinical effectiveness and patient safety agenda.
* Implement PSIRF and the integrated management system (IMS) for standardisation, oversight, and assurance.
* Be involved with the patient experience and health and safety agendas to ensure a governance framework to enable high quality and safe care where excellence and innovation can flourish.
* Provide comprehensive support to investigators in undertaking incident investigations ensuring the incident management policy is fit for purpose and followed.
* Analyse and report on incident data to a range of internal and external stakeholders on a regular and scheduled basis.
* Identify the implications of regulations, policies and strategies on current practice highlighting any changes required.
* Assist in ensuring the statutory requirements of the CQC are met and that the hospital is compliant with all Bupa policies and standards.
* Proactively drive audit and quality assurance programmes.
* Make recommendations for service improvements which add value by evaluating inputs for a range of sources, balancing, and prioritising competing interests and identifying how improvements can be sustainably taken forward and implemented.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
* Extensive experience in a relevant senior role within the NHS and/or private healthcare sector.
* Degree and postgraduate level educated or equivalent experience.
* Investigation methodology - for example, SEIPS, AAR or RCA.
* Significant experience of governance systems and of working with the CQC.
* Capable of managing large-scale change management programmes, particularly in relation to governance systems.
