Advert Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for the delivery of care to adults who have autism and complex learning disabilities, consistent with Social Work policies and procedures including assisting service users to meet their needs as detailed in their care plans in an autism focussed way which respects their dignity as individuals, maximising their levels of independence and promoting their inclusion within the wider community. It is essential you have an understanding of the role, especially the needs of people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorder, have the ability to communicate effectively with service users, relatives, carers, health professionals and other agencies, Literacy skills and are willing to undertake any training courses relevant to the job. You must be able to work on your own initiative, be honest and enthusiastic with the capacity to learn and apply new skills. You must be available to work flexibly as required. Possession of a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care is desirable, while the commitment and capacity to achieve this qualification is essential. Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council or other appropriate regulatory body as required is essential. A driving licence that allows you to drive a minibus is also desirable.
