Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Adoption & Permanent Team to work full time based in Reading.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £45,568 per annum.
Main duties:
1. Act as the lead professional in statutory cases that require a qualified social worker, including child protection, care protection, care proceedings, and looked after children cases.
2. Undertake the full range of social work tasks with children in need and their families; assessment, planning, implementation, and review.
3. Bring together and co-ordinate the team around the child to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to APIR and safeguarding.
4. Establish and develop collaborative working with allied health and social care practitioners from children’s and adult services.
5. Promote and model effective working arrangements with schools, children’s centres, and other settings.
6. Develop a good understanding of evidence-based practice and integrate models of best practice into day-to-day service delivery.
7. Participate positively in professional supervision and annual appraisal review, taking personal responsibility for the quality of practice.
8. Take part in case/practice audits and contribute to peer arrangements as required.
9. Build professional credibility within the multi-agency professional partnership by achieving practice standards and meeting performance targets consistently; providing accredited practice teaching as required.
10. Actively contribute to team working, supporting colleagues, covering for colleagues in their absence, and taking part in team meetings and development events.
11. Understand and integrate into practice the key policies of the Council in relation to social care with children and families, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.
12. Develop professional expertise in at least one of the key risk factors affecting the welfare of children; parental alcohol/substance misuse, parental mental health problems, domestic abuse, learning difficulties, and homelessness.
13. Develop an excellent knowledge base of and collaborative working with local preventative and targeted family support services, particularly those provided by the voluntary and community sector.
Requirements of this Social Worker job:
1. A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Continual professional development.
4. Social Work England registered.
