Job Description:
At Warner Music Group, we’re a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we know that each talent makes our collective bolder and brighter. We are guided by four core principles that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:
* Music is Everything: Music is our passion, and we can never get enough. Tastes, trends, and tech will change, but great artists and songwriters will always be our driving force.
* Global Growth, Local Expertise: Music is a global language. Through communication and collaboration, our success can come from anywhere and translate everywhere.
* Innovation and Insight: Pushing the boundaries requires the best information and the boldest imagination. We use both to create the future.
* Empowered by People: Like the artists we serve and the music they make, our differences make us stronger. This is a place where every talent can belong and build a career.
We remain committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We know it fosters a culture where you can truly belong, contribute, and grow. We encourage applications from people of any age, gender identity, sex or sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, and any other protected characteristic or identity.
Job Title: Marketing Assistant, Rhino
A little bit about our team:
Rhino is the ‘home of great music’. For the past 40 years the label has been synonymous with quality, innovation and expert curation. The label is home to Warner Music’s amazing catalogue releases, covering some of the biggest names in music from David Bowie to Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac to Pink Floyd, The Smiths to Prince.
With physical formats like vinyl resurging, the work of the marketing team is vital to deliver high quality products and campaigns that continue to engage existing fans, find new audiences, and tell the stories around our artists.
Your role:
This role will allow you to work closely with various teams to curate and market new physical and digital releases. Creating a strong working relationship with the Production, Commercial, Finance, Global Catalogue, Asset Library, Audience and Engagement, Merchandise, and E-Commerce teams will be key to succeeding in the role. You’ll also be working with artists, managers, and external clients that specialise in delivering creative services such as audio mastering and artwork curation.
Here you’ll get to:
* Work closely with the rest of the Rhino team and contribute to your own ideas for both product origination and creative marketing campaigns. Providing support from ideation and planning, all the way through to execution and beyond.
* Create new vinyl and physical products from start to finish. Working with a variety of teams to help pull everything together.
* Liaise with the D2C and E-Commerce teams to assist with marketing initiatives for products and on-store promotions such as product-bundling, campaign asset-creation, ticket pre-sale initiatives and general product setup. You’ll also assist with planning written editorial content for our D2C brand.
* Focus primarily on physical and support streaming campaigns across both traditional marketing and digital. Responsibilities include assisting on the physical release process, generating organic marketing ideas, briefing in social/creative assets, assisting on artist copy for socials/mailers, arranging meetings and agendas.
* Seek new opportunities within the catalogue to explore additional revenue avenues.
* Schedule and manage the financials for your projects by creating Purchase Orders, ensuring these are assigned to the correct project and accounted for in the related budget.
* Maintain our internal product release schedule, ensuring it’s up to date with the latest releases, forecasts, pricing and details.
* Work closely with the Commercial team to carefully choose product pricing, forecasting, retail initiatives, and planning physical campaigns such as Record Store Day and Black Friday.
* Keep up to date and communicate all marketing developments, new technologies and competitor’s marketing campaigns.
We’d love you to have:
* A passion for music across a variety of genres.
* Experience with record labels, E-Commerce teams, physical product curation, and supply chain operations.
* Great organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload, goals, targets, time, and to work independently and proactively.
* Attention to detail with great communication and multi-tasking skills.
* Motivation to build relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
* Strong computer skills, especially with MS Office. Photoshop knowledge is a bonus.
* Excellent knowledge/interest of the UK music market and fully understand the latest product innovations and consumer trends in the current landscape and developments within the music industry.
It would be great if you also had:
* An understanding of our roster of catalogue and frontline artists.
* Studied Business, Marketing, Promotions, but not necessarily in music.
