As the Maintenance Person, you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the standards of the home are maintained.
Main duties of the role:
* Undertake all routine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work as requested by the Home Manager or Estates Manager.
* Check the maintenance request book for tasks to be completed.
* Set priorities of maintenance tasks with the Estates Manager and review regularly.
* Keep accurate records and provide a report to the Estates Manager and Home Manager on a weekly basis.
* On a weekly basis, undertake tasks checking and documenting the fire alarm test and routine checks of the fire doors, security doors, window restrictors, and emergency lighting checks.
* On a monthly basis, undertake delegated responsibilities for the visual check of the firefighting apparatus e.g., extinguishers.
* Check water temperatures of sinks and baths on a monthly basis.
* Clean shower heads and waste traps.
* Change light bulbs and clean light shades or fittings as required.
* Maintain an awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
Other requirements:
* Experience in general repairs/maintenance.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good problem-solving skills and able to manage priorities.
* Driving license/car owner is preferred.
