We are seeking an experienced and skilled Hiab Operator/HGV Driver to join our Accommodation Division covering the Central Belt of Scotland. As a vital member of our Accommodation Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless delivery of goods and services, guaranteeing the safe and timely transportation of our accommodation and power equipment. This position requires a strong customer-focused attitude, attention to safety, and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service. Your main responsibilities will include: Safe Operation of HGV Vehicles and Hiab: > Drive company HGV vehicles to transport accommodation and power equipment between customer locations, strictly adhering to all road safety regulations. > Supervise the loading and unloading of equipment, using the Hiab crane to efficiently and safely handle and place items. > Ensure safe and smooth access to customer sites by liaising with site managers/customers, confirming access requirements, security procedures, and delivery arrangements when required > Navigate customer sites safely, following site-specific protocols and ensuring minimal disruption to the customer's operations. > Perform regular checks on the vehicle and equipment, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition to avoid delays or issues. > Follow strict safety protocols to protect yourself, your team, and others on the road, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations and company safety policies. Compliance and Safety: > Ensure your transportation and handling activities comply with company policies, > UK road regulations, and health & safety standards. > Complete and maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, including delivery notes, vehicle logs, and inspection reports, in line with regulatory and company requirements. > Report any damages, safety issues, accidents, or significant problems immediately to the Transport Compliance Manager, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining high safety standards. > Participate in regular safety briefings and training to stay up-to-date with the latest compliance and safety procedures. Delivery of Exceptional Customer Service: > Interact with customers during deliveries, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and attention to detail. > Check goods off with the customer upon delivery, ensuring accuracy in the delivery process. > Accurately complete all required paperwork, ensuring compliance with company and legal documentation standards
Valid LGV Class 1 / 2 License. Lorry Loader (Hiab) Experience. In-date Digi Tacho Card. Driver CPC Qualification, with a minimum of one CPC training day per year since obtaining the card. Good knowledge of EU driving hours regulations and tachograph rules. Preferred Experience: In-date Lorry Loader (Hiab) Ticket preferred. Experience of construction site deliveries. Experience in the hire industry is a plus.
