Job Description In the frame of nuclear plant construction, The Joint Design Organization (JDO) is an integrated team composed of teams from: the Client, who leads the JDO; and Contractors who have carried out the detailed design studies. As part of its scope of delegation, JDO provides technical support at the nuclear site for the resolution of the various problems arising during the construction phases and later during the testing and commissioning operations. Main Activities: The position of “Steelwork (SW) engineer” aims at support the field design activities for the steelwork discipline on the Nuclear Island (NI) and mainly manage design modification or clarification raised before and during on-site construction. The main responsibilities are as follows: Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the Eurocode3 and ETC-C, other relevant codes Liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the SW design Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures, Liaising with colleagues in Paris Resolving identified technical issues Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data. Produce the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes). Coordinate CAD Design Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete. Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building. Create and maintain and responsible for the Design Risk Register Key Relationships: Activities will be highly interfaced within JDO (cf Context) and other JDO teams (cf Main Activities). Note that, should the need arise, Back Office teams may as well be solicited, i.e. interfaces expected with client teams in Bristol and Paris.
