Position/Title: Business Development Manager, United Kingdom
CDC are delighted to partner with an expanding US, based Life Science Tools company as we look for an sales person to join our UK team.
Who we are and what we need:
* They are an established company providing high-quality immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and glycobiology products to life science researchers.
* We are seeking a Business Development Manager to promote the company’s portfolio of custom products, with a focus on creating new customer partnerships, and understanding the customer’s current and future needs within the life sciences industry.
* This position is responsible for day-to-day activities related to business development, sales, and customer support in a territory region of the United Kingdom.
* Our ideal candidate will be passionate and have the intellect curiosity to be driven and understand the customer’s needs.
* Commercial: Strong prior sales experience selling life science tools into Academia and Industrial accounts; Consultative selling experience with the ability and initiative to challenge the customers status quo; having account management and B2B experience; owns deliverables and has the initiative to hunt for new business
* Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with customers and drives success through a collaborative approach by working cross functionally internally and externally for the success of the business.
* Technical: Familiarity with Histology workflows (IHC, IF); Analytically data driven, understanding and utilization of systems & tools to advance sales opportunity activities through all phases of the sales funnel; understand KPI’s and metrics that impact opportunity progression.
Description of Duties:
● Meeting and exceeding sales targets by establishing strong business relationships with current and future customers and aggressively pursuing new sales opportunities.
● Using CRM and web-based research tools to understand customer organizations, working with new key accounts to understand buying trends and how buying decisions are made.
● Generate leads, identify, and qualify new prospects, and secure new business collaboration opportunities by nurturing and building relationships
● Establish and maintain frequent contact with customers through focused client visits and presentations to ensure high levels of satisfaction on issues and needs
● Conduct formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts
● Collaborate with management to perform feasibility assessments and to convert opportunities into project proposals; develop proposals and manage the execution of contract agreements
● Work with Sales Management to establish and execute a comprehensive sales plan for each target account, including custom, OEM and private label services
● Collaborate with appropriate internal resources to develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the customer.
