Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Leeds, Hybrid 2 days per week on-site)

As part of this transformation, the Modern Workplace Platform plays a crucial role in enhancing productivity and enabling seamless communication across the organisation.
The Colleague Messaging and Surveillance engineering team, within the Technology function, is responsible for delivering and supporting communication tools that allow employees to connect and collaborate efficiently across multiple devices. With a focus on innovation and productivity, this team ensures that technology supports rather than hinders the bank's mission of helping customers succeed.
The Role:
We're looking for a motivated, collaborative individual to support the growth and development of a new and ambitious service. You'll play a key role in technical assessments and have a deep understanding of business needs, balancing these with technical requirements, supplier performance, and risk. A key part of this role is championing the move towards automation and evergreen processes, leveraging modern cloud technologies to continuously improve services.
Working closely with a diverse team across the UK, you'll contribute to a continuous cycle of transformation, embracing new tools and opportunities to ensure the bank stays ahead in its use of modern workplace technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support technical assessments and business understanding of changes within Colleague Messaging and Surveillance.
* Balance business needs with technical requirements, risk factors, and supplier performance.
* Advocate for automation and evergreen processes in alignment with new cloud-based services.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximise the potential of modern workplace technologies.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Knowledge of software lifecycles and software maintenance, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
* Hands-on experience with communication technologies and Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations in cloud environments.
* Expertise in the following technologies:
* Microsoft Exchange (on-premise and 365 cloud)
* Email Encryption tools, such as Microsoft Purview
* Internet email security protocols (e.g., Cisco IronPort, DKIM, SPF, DMARC, SMTP DANE, DNSSEC)
* Email Archiving and Journaling applications
* Electronic and Voice surveillance SaaS solutions, e.g., Veritas ALTA
* Electronic Fax solutions
