Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Design Technology Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Stockport. This full-time role will commence after Easter to cover a long-term absence. The school is known for its inclusive and supportive environment, providing students with a high-quality education that fosters creativity and innovation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students develop essential practical skills, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Design Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach across a range of disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, or Engineering, depending on expertise.
* Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning through practical projects and theoretical study.
* Prepare and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring a safe learning environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining high expectations for student engagement and participation.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, share resources, and enhance the curriculum.
* Support students in coursework and exam preparation, helping them achieve their full potential.
* Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as after-school clubs or STEM initiatives, to further inspire students.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Design Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Strong subject knowledge in one or more areas of Design Technology.
* Ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons that inspire creativity.
* Effective classroom management skills with a commitment to student progress.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to workshop environments.
* A passion for Design Technology and a desire to make a positive impact on students' education.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
