Full-time Description About Us: Our group of entities includes operations in the international valve marketing & distribution, valve modifications & field services, water treatment & disposal, and real estate management. Our office is located in Stafford, TX. The role: The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing recurring and customized reports, and assisting in the overall financial management of the organization. This role requires strong analytical and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, excellent organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. This position works within a centralized accounting department, providing shared services, and it reports to the Controller. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, expense allocations, and financial statements. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage a group of entities' accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. The accounts payable process includes reviewing invoice coding from the Accounting Assistant, overseeing vendor account statements reconciliations, ensuring timely payment of all invoices, etc. The accounts receivable process includes accurate monthly rent billings for a few real estate properties, assisting in the billing process for the water processing facility, annual operating expense reconciliations, monitoring the collections process, and calculating/billing late fees when needed. Month-End Close: Assist with the month-end close process by reviewing entities' general ledgers, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and budget variance analysis. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing necessary data and analysis to senior management. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Also, track and ensure timely payment of property taxes with various governing bodies. Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Expense Management: Monitor and analyze company expenses, ensure proper allocation, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department. Special Projects: Assist with various and non-recurring special projects for various legal entities. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support overall company objectives. Specific Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree in accounting is a plus. Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks is required (Epicor is a plus). Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, charts, lookup tables, and data analysis. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and meet various deadlines. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Required Experience: Experience in oilfield services, real estate management, manufacturing sector, or similar. Full-cycle accounting: 5 years Audits: 5 years Budgets, forecast preparation, GL analysis, and monthly reporting: 5 years Monthly billings and collections: 5 years Intercompany transactions and reconciliations: 5 years Tax compliance: 3 years Project management: 3 years Job Type : Full-time - salaried Pay : $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year depending on qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for a 10% bonus, earned by meeting certain company and personal goals.
