DEVELOPMENT POST FOR TRAINEE COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGIST!
Due to service redesign we have an opportunity for a final year Trainee Counselling Psychologist to join the service for their last year of training (at band 6) and to progress to qualified Counselling Psychologist (band 7); come join Inpatient Adult Mental Health Services!
* Different locations (Coventry/Warwick).
* Flexibility: a third of your role remote if preferred.
Working in inpatient mental health is a great use of all skills we have as psychologists; it's a great place to learn, develop and progress to a qualified psychologist. If you're interested in working with people with a variety of difficulties and working with the MDT then this is the role for you. You will have a significant role collaborating with the MDT to develop trauma informed formulations that inform least restrictive care. We're keen to recruit recovery-oriented thoughtful team players and welcome all conversations if you're curious. You're also very welcome to come and meet some of the team and see the wards.

Main duties of the job
Role involves:
* 1:1 psychological work with patients.
* Psychological group work with patients.
* Input to MDT meetings.
* Input to teaching and training.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in Psychology, or an equivalent qualification, which confers eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society.
* Enrolled on a recognised HCPC approved and BPS accredited Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology as a third-year trainee.
Knowledge and Skills
* NICE Guidelines, Mental Health Act.
* Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of policies and procedures.
* Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of confidentiality.
* Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of safety issues.
Experience
* Experience of paid or voluntary work in a clinical, community or clinical-academic setting exposing the person to patient groups and service settings directly relevant to the application of psychology in a clinical setting.
* Experience of working with people a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£37,338 to £44,962 a year. Advance to B7 when Doctorate completed & HCPC registered.
