Route Services is a division of Network Rail that provides the Routes with services so they can help Network Rail deliver a better railway for a better Britain. This role sits within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), an area of the business which supplies and delivers the logistics, materials, components, rail and road fleet that enable the maintenance and renewal of the railway.
Brief Description
In this role you will undertake the management of 6 and structure gauging data in accordance with the applicable standards and work instructions. You will also provide 6 and structure gauging and related data required by other internal and external systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver an efficient and effective 6 and structure gauging data management service.
2. Collate and monitor the quality of 6 and structure gauging data received against specified requirements; liaise with data providers to resolve data and quality shortfalls.
3. Maintain and update 6 and structure gauging data in the appropriate core systems and libraries, in accordance with applicable standards and work instructions.
4. Undertake the provision of 6 and structure gauging data as required by other corporate and third party systems and processes, maintaining synchronisation between systems.
5. Maintain accurate records of data provision, data maintenance and other activities and assist in the preparation of data assurance and other management information reports.
6. Support the development and delivery of specific data improvement activities, and process and system enhancements.
7. Liaise with managers, customers and stakeholders as required to undertake accountabilities.
8. Assist with other activities of the gauging data management team as required.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
1. GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths.
2. Good communication and analytical skills.
3. Previous experience in data management activities.
4. Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of computer systems related to infrastructure asset data.
2. Knowledge of Infrastructure data relevant to the GB railway.
3. Good knowledge of railway geography and operations.
4. Knowledge of 6 and structure gauging data, methods and processes.
