Location: Primarily based at JCB Cab Systems, with regular travel to JCB Transmissions in Wrexham.
About the role:
This role will support JCB Power Products business unit.
As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will need to liaise closely with key internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve your objectives. As a key point of contact for the Business Unit’s Finance function, you will need to be approachable and knowledgeable and be able to advise and respond to queries in a professional and courteous manner.
This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and the chance of future development opportunities.
This position will be key in delivering accurate and timely financial data and reporting in accordance with the Group Finance Calendar.
What does this role involve day to day?
1. Month End Reporting: Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting to Group Finance in line with the Group Accounting Calendar.
2. Key balance sheet account reconciliations.
3. Variance analysis: analysing actual performance against forecast and budgeted expectation. Providing detailed commentaries to the Management team.
4. Monthly Forecasting: leading the forecasting process for the business unit. Working closely with the key stakeholders across the business to update the monthly reforecast.
5. Annual budgeting: as per forecast, leading and working with key stakeholders to compile the annual budget for the business.
6. Promoting cost awareness with the aim of delivering profitability targets across the business.
7. Supporting the business in their use of SAP with a view to improving process and efficiencies.
8. Managing a small team with day-to-day activities.
This will be suited to you if:
1. You are ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
2. Good excel skills are essential as is previous experience of working within a similar role. A background in Manufacturing and in using SAP are advantageous but not essential.
3. We are looking for someone who can work within an established team and can deliver continuous improvement – challenging the status quo, problem solving and actively looking to develop more efficient practices. You will have experience of working with high volumes and tight deadlines, with personal accountability to organise and prioritise your own workload, whilst demonstrating careful attention to detail and adhering to Group Accounting Policies.
