This role of SEN TA is ideal for a compassionate individual ready to make a difference by providing dedicated, one-on-one and group support that helps SEN students excel both academically and socially. About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to create positive learning experiences, foster growth, and contribute to an inclusive school environment that celebrates each student's unique abilities. In this role, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other specialists to create a nurturing learning environment, tailored to each student’s individual needs. Your daily responsibilities will focus on adapting lesson materials, fostering positive relationships, and supporting each student's social and emotional development. Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement personalized learning strategies for SEN students. Tailor resources and classroom activities to meet each student’s needs. Offer focused support during lessons, encouraging participation and engagement. Provide social and emotional support, promoting student confidence and self-esteem. Implement behaviour management techniques suited to individual students. Communicate effectively with parents and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support. Support a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student well-being. SEN TA Qualifications and Skills: CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is preferred. A degree in Psychology, Education, or a relevant field would be advantageous. Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Understanding of various SEN conditions, such as autism and ADHD etc. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to student development. Team player with excellent communication skills.
